Forecaster: US Weather ("Forecaster") has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The developer does not run a server for the app and never receives your data.
With your permission, Forecaster reads your device's location to show the weather where you are. The app sends your coordinates directly from your device to public US government weather services to get your forecast:
Radar map tiles come from the Iowa Environmental Mesonet (mesonet.agron.iastate.edu). Those requests contain the map area on screen, not your exact location. These services may keep standard web server logs under their own policies. Forecaster does not sell or share your location with anyone else.
Your saved places, settings, alert preferences and last known location (shared with Forecaster's widgets) stay on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.
Weather alerts and heads-ups are created on your device. No push notification server is involved.
Forecaster does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
